What We Do

Located in the historic South End neighborhood of Portsmouth, the Wentworth-Gardner house is a classic example of Georgian architecture which overlooks the back channel of the Piscataqua River. The museum consists of two structures that date from the mid-eighteenth century: the 1760 Wentworth-Gardner House and the c. 1740 Warehouse.

The mission of the Wentworth-Gardner Historic House Association is to preserve and enhance its structures, collections, and grounds, and to contribute to the vitality of the community through education and outreach.

The Wentworth-Gardner House is also available for wedding photography and intimate ceremonies.  If you are interested in function rentals at our historic house, please visit our wedding page for more information.

We look forward to your visit!
